| Having a healthy mind and body has always been important to me and I believe that wellness can lead to a deeper spiritual experience. Shaffali International, Inc. is a result of these beliefs and my passion for wellness. |

| From a young age, I have been diligent about taking care of my mind and my body. In an effort to foster peaceful thoughts and to discover my higher self, I began meditating. At the time, I didn't realize I had begun a meditation practice; I was simply quieting my mind and found peace in doing so. To complement this, I also started practicing yoga. Thus, yoga and meditation formed a foundation for my adult life. They are practices I have grown from immensely. In addition I have found that journal writing, something I have practiced since the age of 9, is a never-ending journey that I thoroughly enjoy and in which I continue to grow as I learn more and more about myself and my experiences. |

| My mother has had a beautiful influence on my life. It was her twice daily meditation practice that made me comfortable in my own path for spirituality. She has always been immensely interested in natural remedies. At an early age I became fascinated by how she made face masks at home, often using traditional Indian herbs and spices from our own kitchen. As my rituals for peace developed through my yoga and meditation practice, I also began to incorporate natural beauty as another at-home and regularly practiced ritual. At age 14 I began creating my own skin care products, which I would use in a weekly facial routine - a ritual I still perform to this day. It is during my weekly ritual that I create and refine my own skin care recipes, incorporating concepts from Ayurveda, and using botanicals, essential oils, fruits and vegetables, together with other natural, fragrant and effective ingredients. I have also drawn on my experience working in the skin care industry in the US and in Europe. For me this is a real passion as anyone I have ever been close to can testify. They will have had a custom-made mask from me - it is something I love to do and share |

| I have carried the practices of skincare, yoga and meditation with me from my teenage years into my adult, professional life. I received my skin care therapy license and have been a manager in the spa and skin care industries. In addition, I am a certified yoga instructor. |

| My Modern Nomad shawl collection is a direct result of my passion for travel. I have traveled extensively within the US, Europe, Asia and also back to my native India. I always learn a great deal while I travel, much of which I apply to my yoga, meditation and skin care products. During my travels I have seen the diverse uses of these beautiful garments in different parts of the world. Inspired, I began wearing shawls everywhere. In yoga, the shawl would keep me warm when I wasn't, served well as cushioning for some poses and was a wonderful blanket in Shivasana. I found each shawl I would wear to be an elegant and stunning addition to my ensemble. I was so comfortable in my shawls that they soon became a part of so many outfits; they are versatile and are useful and stylish not only in yoga practice and meditation, but also in the office at work, at dinners out, parties, shopping and lounging to relax. Thus, as Shaffali Skin Rituals and Shaffali Yoga and Wellness represent my passion for a spiritual existence and wellness, Modern Nomad was born out of my affinity for the beauty of India and the world, and how well it can be used in wellness practices. |
